    Personal effects accounting document

Just going to reply to my own question in case it could help someone else in the future! I called CBSA and the agent said it's totally up to us whether to fill in separate forms or a single form for the entire family. He said it doesn't matter that we're entering under different circumstances...

    Personal effects accounting document

Hello, I'm a Canadian citizen living abroad for a number of years, and will be moving to Canada in a couple weeks with my husband (family class PR) and our two kids. We'll be shipping a few boxes of personal effects, and I'm wondering if we should fill in a single BSF186 (personal effects...

    Nova Scotia driver's license

Thanks for your reply. It's really the "having someone sit by you while you drive" part that's crazy to me. I guess rules are rules, but I wonder how people deal with it if they have to drive to work and have nobody to take them. We're lucky since we'll be in part of the province with shorter...

    Nova Scotia driver's license

Could anyone share their experience in exchanging a foreign driver's license for a NS license? I know the basics, that I can drive freely on my foreign license for 90 days, and that I'll have to retake the knowledge and then the road test to obtain a NS license. But is it true that once I write...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Congrats to all who have received PPR lately! Could anyone give some details on what information is actually requested in the PPR email? We were wondering if there's anything we can prepare in advance since we want to get it in the mail asap, whenever we receive that long-awaited update :).

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Finally got BGC in progress today!! Omg I hope that means we're done soon. They also asked for birth certificates for our (Canadian) children. Who knows what that's about, but just happy to see progress.

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

OMG I'm so sorry :(. That's awful. I hope you're moving to a province with a good job market, at least. Do you have any idea why BGC could be taking longer for you? For instance my husband (the PA) lived in three different countries (although they only requested police cert for two of them) so...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Although in addition to extra bags we will also be traveling with a toddler and an infant, which come with a stroller and diapers and airplane toys and snacks and spare clothes and etc etc etc etc. So there's that..... :D

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

That's what we're probably planning on doing. It's usually only €50-€100 for an extra bag of 23kg.

We're going from Italy (we used to live in Ireland though! Not Northern Ireland, just regular Ireland :D). I'd still be curious what they quoted you, just to get a very general idea. Like yourself, we only have a small amount of stuff that's really worth taking, but I just have no clue whether...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

We're really back and forth on this. We're lucky since we have family here and so can store stuff with them rather than frantically trying to sell everything before leaving. There are a few things we really would like to take so I'm going to get a quote from a shipping company, but am bracing...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Oops, yep, this is what I meant! Hoping we'll be one of those cases where we get BGC, decision made and PPR all in the same week :). Now wouldn't that be great.... So happy to see all of the CoPR and landing too - we just submitted in May and the impatience has really started creeping up in the...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Anyone else have jobs waiting on them in Canada? My husband (PA) was recently offered a dream job in Canada - great work, great pay, great organization. Everything will probably work out, but my biggest nightmare would be this employer having to move on while we're waiting and waiting and...
