Does an accident on US driver license affect your insurance in Canada?

Thanks guys. We figured that it's either going to be a reported accident or a new drivers insurance, just weren't sure which one is the smaller evil. As for a ticket, I think he had to pay one but it wasn't serious enough for any points to be assigned. In either case, non-disclosure seems not...

Does an accident on US driver license affect your insurance in Canada?

Yep, insurance companies are pretty crappy. We're still shopping for cars though, and haven't looked at the insurance in depth, but from prelim research it seems that reasonable prices do not exist. Also, it seems they don't like drivers from US because as soon as you tell the person that your...

Does an accident on US driver license affect your insurance in Canada?

Here is the story. My husband immigrated to Toronto from the States on a family class late last year. He exchanged his US drivers license for a Canadian one, and now we are looking to lease a car within the next month or so. Last year he had an accident at fault in Pennsylvania. That insurance...

Landing Interview, Schedual or cross the boarder?

I agree with the poster above, CBSA officers don’t like processing landing for flagpolers, however… :) What you can do is just lie that you’ve stayed in US for a couple of days visiting your friends / family. Since you are American and your wife is Canadian, your passports won’t be stamped when...

Best scenario to sponsor your wife?

If you're looking for the safest way to do this, here it is: - get married in your home country - make sure you have all the docs for outland sponsorship - come to Canada and apply outland from here while your wife is still back home - bring her over when your app is approved. Outland...

Landing at the border Southern Ontario

Hi guys, has anyone landed around Niagara Falls recently? Me and my husband live in Toronto and we are planning to drive to the border this Saturday to process his landing. I've read that this summer CBSA introduced a restriction at Southern Ontario borders and they do not accept flagpolers...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Got a PPR! (DM yesterday) - received it by email, nothing on GCKey yet - email came from CPC Mississauga - documents are to be sent to CPC Ottawa - they didn't provide a contact email the way Ottawa does, the letter instructs to launch a CSE if any issues arise.

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

Just got a notification of a message in GCKey account, almost had a heart attack, thought it was a PPR directly following decision made. Turns out it was an invitation to use pre-arrival services provided by Government of Canada for new immigrants. Didn’t even know that a service like that...

**MISSISSAUGA PROCESSING** - Outland Spousal Applicants

A little update for us as well! We were in the first bunch of people who received the Mississauga processing email in the end of August. Background check changed to in process today. God I hope that means a DM soon. ECAS still says "application received"

    OB570 Stream.

From what you said, your application is pretty straight forward and uncomplicated. At this stage there would have to be a very serious issue for CIC to reject an application. Unreported criminal offence, default of a previous undertaking - stuff like that. I'd say with 99.99% confidence that...

    OB570 Stream.

I can't imagine what it's like to be waiting for 10 months considering all the Canadian - American couples who applied last year were getting processed in 4-6 months.. Decision Made means your application has been approved. You may not receive correspondence for a while because there are tons...

***APRIL 2017***SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

This is not a Permanent residence decision made, this is them approving you as a sponsor. To check the status of your spouse's permanent residence application, you'll have to use their UCI, not yours. Since your application was received on August 28, you probably want to watch the August...
