@rajkamalmohanram hi Raj. It’s been 6 weeks since I applied surrender certificate. There is no update. I already have tweeted them and also emailed cgi, but no response. What should I do in this case.

I applied for Surrender Certificate on Sept 20, still there is no update. I have seen in this forum , many are getting surrender certificate in less than 2 weeks. In my case- its been 6 weeks , no update.

when did you apply for the Surrender certificate. You can apply for OCI with surrender certificate application receipt. No need to wait for surrender certificate. I applied both on same time.

other members here can help! I am still waiting for my OCI and surrender cert. I believe they deliver to mailbox .

that’s correct- it won’t appear on form. It is optional so you should keep blank.

is there any additional lines on OCI status enquiry page or it is still at “Document received at “ I assume there will additional status lines like documents dispatched after stamping etc..

I applied on Sept 20th. Surrender status - Under review at Indian Embassy/ Consulate Oci status : Under Process

5 weeks since I applied OCI and Surrender certificate togather. I have no update even on Surrender certificate. Anyone has such experience. I thought it takes 4 weeks for surrender.

It’s been 30 calendar days, I submitted both surrender and OCI, but there is no update. Should I be worried about it.

I believe everything must be done here in Canada. Real doc printing and all. There may not be any shipping kind of thing between ind and Canada. Only India official must be verifying online docs and background checks. Since it’s not yet 8th oct yet here , that means decisions are made in India.

You will get it in another 2 business days. Just one thing to clarify- Doc print/received all of these are dated 8th Oct or 7th October!! Does that mean everything is done at India or India consulate at Canada updates everything in IST.
