    That 1 guy must have a very niche skill like Google/Facebook creator that's why he is not able to find a job in world's largest economy. But for others Niagara/near Niagara will happen if salaries dont keep up with rents. just FYI: Toronto has now surpassed Vancouver as costliest city.

    Agree, probably it makes more sense to rent an apartment or basement (if apt not possible) and later on maybe retire in areas like Windsor or farther out in more affordable areas. Dont know whether pension etc wud be enuff to retire though, since savings are not enough for GTA residents.

    I know ppl in IT who got their 1st job after 3-4 months. For Mech Engg's would suggest to hold your Fort for 6 months without being disheartened.
