PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Glad your webform worked. I've sent about 3. Gotten very polite, but non-specific responses... basically "In process, going slow, too bad."

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Renewal. I travel internationally a ton and am out of Canada for lots of small and large blocks of time, however, and this happens every time I renew so I'm sure they just slide it from desk to desk saying "you count the days!" "no, you count the days!" ... particularly slow this time around...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

It seems there is no logic/consistency to the timeline. My app arrived August 16, AOR Nov 24 - "in processing." Some have been waiting longer, some have gotten cards in a much short timeline. It really seems to be luck of the draw.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Yes. The first couple of calls no one even knew what was going one, but they finally tracked it down. And yeah, it had gone to the office for pick-up but they hadn't told me. This was 5 years ago, however, and their on-line/email process was not as robust, but I'm expecting the same this year.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

In process since Nov. 24, fwiw. I am a special case as I travel a ton, but I don't know that there is any rhyme or reason. I'm gonna start my daily calls soon, which I had to do 5 years ago as well. Eventually someone found it (It was already at the in-person pick-up office, but they didn't...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

It took me a few weeks to figure it out, but back then (5 years ago) there was a more reasonable time-frame and once you went beyond it, it was clear something was wrong. The time-frame right now seems very inconsistent, but if you were DM in August and have not heard, I think you need to do...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

Fwiw, my last one was sent for in person pick-up - and my guess is that was the "real" issue - they forgot to tell me. Once we figured that out, I was able to go get it in person. If your account says "decision made" you should be able to get some info, if it's still "in process" you'll have to...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

I had my last (5 years ago) card go missing "in production" and it turned out there was some snafu between "approved" and "sent" that was never fully explained, (said it was a "printing" problem...) but it took quite few long, patient phone holds and emails to finally get someone who could...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

The timeline appears to be fairly random judging from responses here - anything from a few days to 2 months after AOR.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

He would have to return through the US. Like, say, fly to Buffalo and cross at Niagara, or fly to Burlington etc. Technically, he would not be permitted on a commercial airline without a valid PR card or Returning Res Permit as far as I know.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

As far as I know (and double check with a lawyer if you want to do this to be sure) the "easiest" thing is for him to cross at a land border with his original landing document (and any other identification he might need to prove he is a PR of Canada.) The difficult thing is not entering Canada...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

No idea about PRTD but I believe you have 180 days to pick up the card, either from date of appointment or date of notification. The info is online but I'm not sure where I saw it.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

The last time I renewed I applied in July 2016 and finally got my card in person in late Jan 2017. TBF it sounded like maybe there was a snafu in printing it, but I'm hoping it's not that long this time. Lol.

My Update: PR card renewal application received by mail Aug 17 Email confirming receipt of application: Nov 24th No update on my web account yet, but email just came in this AM My application tends to take a long time as we travel a ton, so I'll let y'all know the timeline but I doubt my...

Should just take a quick call. But better to know the legalities for your specific situation before hand - just in case. Good luck. See ya at the Niagara casino! lol.

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

I am a US cit with a Can cit spouse. We travel a lot. My spouse works outside Canada a lot and my residency is often met by counting days I am accompanying my spouse and paying my Can taxes. In 2017 I had to travel to US, so I just flew back to Buffalo and there is no issue with that for US...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

I'm not a lawyer, so I 100% would get official comfirmation but for my last PR card (2016/17) they held it "in process" a loooong time, so I had to leave Canada and I returned via Buffalo in a rental car with my original landing papers, my expired PR card, my original wedding certificate, copy...

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2021

If you can get to a land crossing, you can cross in a "private vehicle" with the proper paperwork (or you used to be able to. I'd check with an attorney as well.) When I did it ~5 years ago, I had my entire application copies, my original landing paper. (IMwhateveritis - the long brown and white...
