What is people's experience regarding the delay to receive the PR card ? Any thread on this forum that talks about that ?

Landed, just went to the closest Point of Entry and did the procedure. Very smooth, barely 10 minutes in total. Yay !

I don't think it's totally reliable. My CIC info says the same now, "The application has been approved" and all that, but I definitely haven't landed *yet*. My CoPR is waiting in my mailbox, I'll drive to the border and do the landing some time this week.

My documents were received last Tuesday, Visa Office is Ottawa. In my case there was no need to send the passport as I am a French citizen.

Folks, in my case CIC took literally 6 months (May 1st to Nov 1st) to process my application, keep calm and carry on. Anybody knows how long the Visa Offices take to send the CoPR ?

Can I just say "Thank God our applications were processed just in time before the bloody US election" ? I mean, seriously, the result is just ****** up, but not unexpected.

Give it a try, it's not like you have anything to lose. I would just recommend you let 1 day pass after the 6 months, then the agent cannot deny you over the 6 months duration thing.

@GagamM and @LilyKath: Mostly I am relieved to no longer having to wait as I don't deal with waiting quite well. About the outcome itself, I was 90% sure that I would get it eventually, but seeing other folks get it sooner always makes you think about impossible situations. The information on...

Some of the dates are not exact so I'll mark them with a * to say that it's an approximate date. FSW Inland - Ottawa Visa Office ITA: 25/03/2016 AOR: 01/05/2016 Medical Passed: 14/05/2016* BG in progress: 14/05/2016* RCMP Criminal Record Check Request: 12/07/2016 BG in progress: 18/07/2016* PPR...

Oh, my bad, there's the PPR email. So they took literally 6 months to process my case and give me a response. Interestingly enough, my CIC info still reads the same as before with "Review of Documents" as provided, "Background Check" as in progress.

I am FSW Inland, still nothing. Getting irritated now.

Still no news here, the usual story. But sooner or later they'll have to touch our files anyway so we can just wait and hope they're happy with the content. In my case the 6 months will be up tomorrow. I've been waiting this long, might as well wait a few more days.

Yeah let's see, I should get my GCMS notes in early November, I'll see whether they're unhappy with something or just taking their time for the sake of it. My original thought was that being from France, having graduated from Canada, presently working here in Canada would help get a result more...

Still no movement whatsoever from CIC on any applications ? What are they doing exactly ? I get that the 6 month time-frame is ultimately just a reference rather than a hard deadline for them but still it's becoming frustrating.

AOR MAY 2016 >>> JOIN HERE

Nothing to report here. It's kind of pointless to keep us waiting really. But then the 6 month time-frame is given as an average so if some folks get it in 4.5 months then maybe some others may get it in 7.5 months.

Ya they're taking their sweet bloody time, I guess I'll have to bug them over the phone next week. My BG has been in progress literally the whole time except during the time I was supposed to upload my RCMP document, so I have stopped thinking it means anything because it's been over 5 months...

FSW Inland, based in Ottawa so probably handled by the Ottawa office. Apparently there are some April FSW applicants still left so let's see, I can start call-spamming CIC in about a week anyway.
