I think that means they put the visa on your passport. They only issue the visa when they have your passport, and it will have the date when they received the passport stamped on it. They are probably in the process of mailing it.

jessibee - Yes! I am so happy! Did everything go as smoothly for your husband? And congrats to you too! If it was yesterday, I must have seen him at the consulate then! Amaranth - I hope it doesn't get transferred. Buffalo is so close and convenient! Quakingaspen - Thanks! I hope you get your...

Here's my account of my Buffalo trip, as promised. I took the 7:30pm Greyhound bus from Toronto. The ride was uneventful, but somewhat stressful. There was some rude guy talking on his cellphone the entire trip there. It's funny how much you learn listening to someone talk for 3 1/2 hours...

Congrats to all those who recently got their PPRs! So exciting! I'm just quickly letting you know that I landed in Canada today. I went to Buffalo and picked up my visa then headed to the border. I can finally say that I'm done with this process. I never thought I'd see the day! I am so...

Just got back from Buffalo. I can now say I'm a permanent resident of Canada! Everything went very smoothly... I'm way too sleepy to give you guys a detailed account of my visit to the Buffalo, but I'll have more details tomorrow! I'm so happy everything worked out so well. To those still...

Thank you for the info! I'm supposed to get there at 9:45pm, so I'm hoping traffic won't be too bad. I'm sure we'll head straight to the hotel to sleep so we can be at the Canadian Consulate bright and early Tuesday morning. I'll definitely keep you guys posted. I got my pictures taken today...

We actually went to a little pub on Bloor/Bathurst and had a few pints of Rickard's White. I'm sure we'll celebrate some more when we get to Buffalo. What about you? This is so exciting!

Oh my. We are going on Monday night, but we'll be at the HSBC building Tuesday morning, then back to Toronto on Tuesday night. My fiance has finals next week so no time to do sightseeing. Oh well.

My email said... We require two (2) recent photographs of yourself and each accompanying family member. Here's the link the provided for the photo specifications: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/photospecs.asp I haven't checked e-cas, but my tracker hasn't updated, so I...

Thank you! I actually got quite frustrated reading some of the replies to my original comment. I am well aware the process might take 11 months, but why can't it be less than that? That's why we have the spreadsheet! We're not wishing for something impossible here. Looking at the spreadsheet...

Agreed. You always have to consider both sides of the spectrum. You got people waiting since early 2010 on one hand, then you got people like Iamrobot85, Francis, Treelover, etc ---who applied in November and received their PPRs in March--- on another. The only thing we know for sure is that...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I wish. I'm stressing out cause I just got into grad school, and I told them I wouldn't be requiring a student visa (It's the truth! And I really don't want to pay international fees since I know I will have my PR by September)... and they are asking me to show documentation . They already know...

Oh my. I've missed a lot! :( I'm back to rant that I still haven't heard from Buffalo. Seems like I'm not the only one... Still no PPRs for the December group? Congrats to all those who are landing soon. So jealous! Hope everything goes well!

There's a bunch of us that live in Toronto. 8) Thanks for the tip! I was planning on taking amtrak/viarail, but I figured I might as well save $50 and go by bus. I'm planning on checking out some of the sights in Buffalo. Do you have any recommendations? I'm visiting the Albright-Knox art...

I am gonna go there in person. I live in downtown Toronto so my fiance and I are taking a bus there. It's only $28 roundtrip on Greyhound. I already found a nice hotel on hotwire for $53 a night. Just waiting for my PPR to book it. It's so close yet so far away!
