Will this likely be problem free?

My spouse is with me in the US, but my obligations for Permanent Residency are to remain in Canada or 2 years out of 5 years so I can legally remain in the US for 3 more years if I need to and still be a legal permanent resident of Canada. (For me I only plan to be here a few more months but you...

I don't think this is related to your medical. Also I believe they are optional, see this: http://ourcanadadreamdiary.blogspot.com/2016/04/ciipcoa-seminars.html

Bank account for new comer with no fees/minimum balance?

All correct but using <30% credit limit is ideal (and ideally <10%). Anything above 10% starts to hurt your credit score and >30% will really impact your score. It is exponential once you get beyond 30%.

Bank account for new comer with no fees/minimum balance?

http://www.magnifymoney.com/blog/building-credit/should-you-carry-a-balance-on-a-credit-card/ "A credit card myth exists in our society simply to befuddle new credit card users. Parents tell children. Friends tell each other. Managers lecture employees. “You should carry a balance on a credit...

Bank account for new comer with no fees/minimum balance?

The point of arguing with your post was to prevent spreading misinformation. Carrying a balance is NOT necessary to build credit. Paying off the balance in full each month as long as you actually use the card each month will achieve the same effect and avoid the interest. You're welcome to pay...

Bank account for new comer with no fees/minimum balance?

That's not correct. Paying your balance in full AFTER the statement closes and generates (when you receive either an electronic statement/bill or one in the mail) will 1) Report the balance to the credit agencies and 2) Allow you to incur 0 interest as you have a grace period from when the...

Congrats! Can I ask if your partners car was in Canada the whole time unimported? Did it have American plates for a while? (if so how long?) Has anyone ever given you hassles about the plates? Sorry for all the question, I ask because I have our car listed as a goods to follow because I need a...

    Montreal to Upstate NY drive

I highly advise you get snow tires with studs. I can't live without them in Vermont and Plattsburgh isn't any different and neither is Montreal (if anything it's worse there). They usually are only an extra $10 or $20 per tire but you can't really put a price on safety. They can break through...

Will this likely be problem free?

Sorry just wanted to clarify, you can LAND in Quebec but cannot state that as your permanent address. I landed in Quebec last week and my address is in Ontario without a problem. To the Original Poster, there is no issue but as you have been told don't tell the officers your intentions to...

    Do I need a SIN # ASAP?

Because I am not in Canada, still living in the US until June as I said in my original post. There is no ServiceCanada here in the US and when I landed it was closed as it was on a weekend.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I'm 99% sure that both addresses end up in the same office/hands. The courier if anything might get them opened a day earlier as I am sure they don't check their PO box multiple times a day. It's the same thing for mailing the original applications, one courier address and one PO Box but they...
