You are indian citizen. They don't check anything at toronto airport except you have valid ticket to go back and Doesnt matter if ur work permit is expired. But the thing is you will need new work permit to apply for TRV from india and you need to apply for that from india then only you can return

Exactly, all the other provinces are so active and sending invitation so fast unlike Edmonton. They are ridiculously slow

How Do you know All checks and verification done ? Did you call? and what exactly you asked the agent? Because i called and only reply i got was that my application status is open . Thanks in advance for your time

Exactly. They should atleast tell us whether background check is done or criminality is passed or something. Just Looks good and status is open is not enough.
