Yes, you should ask your employer to do that for you. A closed work permit can be only obtained through your employer. However, if you have completed one year of study in Canada, you are entitled for an open work permit, which you can get without your employer's involvement. Good luck !

One of the pre-requisite for BOWP is AOR, if you could submit your e-APR and get AOR in return before your work permit expires, and then you should be able to apply for BOWP. Please note that at the time of your BOWP application your work permit should be in valid status.

I think if you can provide sufficient documents to prove your 52 weeks of full time work experience, such as Job reference letter, pay stubs, offer letter etc. you should be fine.

Any work experience gained on a study permit can't be considered as Canadian work experience under CEC.

If you haven't used that co-op work experience to claim points, you don't even need to provide that letter to CIC. Your application won't get rejected because of that, at most they can ask you for additional documents, but most likely it won't come to that. No that doesn't mean your documents...

You can count your work experience from Jan 2016 onwards as long as you can produce a proof that you have graduated from your college/university in Dec 2015. This proof can be a letter from your college/university or any other document.
