Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

This is great to hear a fellow BC applicant received the passport! Congrats! So you received the certificate a week before the passport! I was actually curious if this happened because we also received certificates last week and this one with no passports. Actually the certificates for two...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Here’s a rather odd update in our passport saga: My wife and child’s original certificates were returned about a week ago. Not mine. No passports or even CC charges for anyone yet! March 2 (delivered) applicants! Has anyone heard of documents being returned so much earlier than even having the...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

So I finally had to request a transfer! With travel date on May 1, the agent told me there is no way I could get my passport in time with only 10 days until the end of month (long weekend, etc.). The outrageous thing was they said my "not guaranteed" 20 business days started from yesterday...

I am trying to call, but I can't even get in! :/

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Did you get anything from the call? I sent my application from BC on Feb 28 and although they called yesterday for CC info, I see no charge on my account.

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Yeah! This is unacceptable. If we applied well ahead of time using their posted processing times and they didn’t deliver, then why should we pay the cost?

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

So someone from Passport Canada called me today and said our applications are all good and just missing the expiry date of my CC. I asked her when I can expect the passports, and she said she’d examined the applications and that they were all good, so now she’d send them to accounting to have...

Thank you for this, and yes, I understand charing CC doesn't mean much (unfortunately), but I can't help feel even further behind when no movement has happened for me after almost six weeks of submitting my application. I hope things happen quickly for everyone!

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Glad that your app is moving forward. At the same time, it really frustrates me to see even in this forum, which admittedly mostly comprises of people with complicated cases, I am among the very few who have not seen any movements after 5+ weeks. At least, most people have their CC charged after...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

I sent to the Mississauga office and it's been terrible (5 weeks and I've seen no movement whatsoever! absolute silence since Feb 28), so based on my experience, I would try the Gatineau address. I read about people's credit cards being charged from there all the time.

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Great to know that the MP office could make things move so effectively! If you don't mind, can you please give a quick recap of your situation, so others know what sort of situation can be potentially helped by contacting MP?

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Wait what? This is A) terrible, and B) not at all what the agent told me! My application was delivered March 2 and when I called last week (being worried about not getting any updates with my May 1st travel date), he reassured me that I will get the passports before then! So confusing!

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Thank you for making this! And wow! It is a bit disappointing to see I am in the very high end of most days before even a CC charge!

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

So this is interesting. A lot of us are starting to think that not having a travel date on the app (or having one that is not so close - like mine where I put May 1) is the cause of deprioritizing our applications, but this case seems to undermine that theory. I really think there is no rhyme or...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

I wonder if the folks applying from BC have seen any movements? I passed the four-week mark (since delivery) yesterday and still no CC charge!

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Yes, even though I seriously doubt that. The agent sounded confident, though. He \also kind of seemed nonchalant about our child's application not even being in the system after a month, so make what you will with that! He just casually mentioned "maybe call again in two weeks if you heard...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

So I called the passport program today (2.5 hour wait) and they say that me and my wife's applications is showing in the system (under processing - no remarks) and my child'd cannot be found!! but that's okay. I said that I have travel plans for May 1 and with what I see I don't think I can make...

Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Absolutely, there is nothing more to check! Most naturalized citizens have lived here 10+ years, and the long wait is anyway the case even for Canadian born citizens. So basically just government inefficiency.
