    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Apparently the Hassuna (Monla) Federal Court decision will be published this morning. This will have a huge impact on the amendments to C-6.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

This all could have been avoided if the Senators passed the bill and made their own separate bills to address their hobby-horse issues, but no. Senator Omdivar and Senator Jaffer and all the rest had to make a statement. So here we are. Good move, Senators... Will done (sarcastic clapping)

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

The revocation amendment wasn't a good one. It would clog the court and force people to pay $65,000 or more in legal fees or face the prospect of no appeal. It was a gift to lawyers. The courts are already overloaded and can't handle the extra work. Having a full appeal at the Immigration...

I don't know about screwed, but it'll be bouncing back and forth.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Guess so. As I said before, they want an appeals mechanism at the Immigration and Refugee Board, and not to jam up the courts any more than they already are.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

You heard it here first. Minister Hussain's announced to IRCC staff this morning that he will reject the Revos amendment. He will reject the age increase amendment, and he will allow Senator Oh's amendment, but will propose amendments to that amendment.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

As a sign of how little interest there is in this bill now, it's not even on the Order Paper to be discussed, and the agenda is set until May 12th. I bet it doesn't even show it's head until the fall. They've got to get the Budget through first.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

I did not claim it was dead forever. I claimed that the Government is not going to support any of the 3 amendments. The Privy Council Office doesn't want to jam the Federal Court with 200 extra + cases a year. Especially with the Jordan decision. They're going to move for McCoy's amendment...

Why don't you tweet her and ask her if she's meeting tomorrow if you don't believe me. Y'all seem to be experts on that.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Oooooh... Pardon me. They were "invited to a friendly discussion" about, how, exactly, they planned to shut down these amendments as the department has signalled they are unable to operationalize their pipe dreams, and that the language and child application amendments have been deemed "no go"...

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Word coming out if IRCC is Sen. Omdivar and Sen. Harder have been summoned to a high-level briefing tomorrow morning to explain, how, exactly, they plan to fix this mess they've created. Further updates to follow, folks.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

As I said on Friday afternoon, IRCC senior management was briefed on Friday that C-6 will not be passed by the government with these amendments. The revocation amendment went against a Memorandum to Cabinet that had already been awarded funding, and they are completely opposed to the language...

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

The Child applicants bill has been flagged as a no-go for IRCC on the advice of the Justice Department. Simply put, children cannot form intent if they're under 18, and that makes their signature on the form worthless, and any lies or fraud nonpunishable. There's already a waiver for children...

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

It's not speculation. I am reporting to you a fact. Senior Management was briefed today that the bill wi not be accepted as amended. I don't know what more you want for me. Don't believe me as you want. You'll can apologize to me in a few weeks.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

I'm telling you right now. Senior management at IRCC was briefed today that this bill will not be going forward as amended. It's dead on arrival as it stands. They're already making contingency plans for a new bill.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Choose to believe what you want. I'm telling you because my friend was in meetings all day today. The bill is DOA on its return to the House. The age limit for language was the poison pill.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

News coming out of IRCC HQ today is that the bill is expected to fail. Management has been warned during a series of meetings all day today. The amendments were a no-go for the minister and the department, and they've been briefed that more are on the way apparently from the Cons.

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Since people doubted I had a high-level friend at IRCC, and told me I didn't know what I was talking about when I said the revocation proceeding amendment was unconstitutional... Well... You're hearing it here first. The Conservatives will introduce another amendment today RE: allowing minors...
