How long does it usually take to get your passport back after approval (have sent to consulate as instructed)? it's been a couple of weeks for me

Yeah we're not moving until mid next year but feels so good to have it organised! Just need to get the kids Canadian passports and we'll be ready to roll. So you'll be visiting within the 12 month validity of health test which will validate the PR 8) smart.

Mine was in progress for over 6 weeks as they requested further documents. This isn't something to go by from my understanding.

Thanks DollyM ! Yes not sure why Ottawa, the first correspondence we had mentioned Sydney and then there after Ottawa. Must just depend on staff ratio and work loads at the time?

I had police clearances requested via email, i have emailed and sent the originals. Does anybody know when I should hear confirmation that they have been received? Or the general email response time? Or should i just call the IRCC 1-888-242-2100 line?

Ive decided to just send both docs to 365 Laurier Ave West, Ottawa.

I think it's really quite individual, mine changed to "in process" weeks ago, then police checks and license history was requested. Since then it's slowed majorly! I spoke with another person who's been "in process" for months after having a document requested. :(

I should also mention in total i DID spend 6 months + in the UK. Just a few years apart (within the 10 year history requested) :) Uk Police check just ordered so hopefully it arrives in my post box soon.

I can confirm this. Recently applied for our 2 sons and we supplied identification of their father (canadian citizen by birth). We were given this advice from our Canadian Embassy here in Australia. We also included their Australian passports as we had them so thought may as well.

From other sections of this forum and other FB groups I've been reading as quick as 4 months (and average) for most outland apps.
