    Sponsorship - Letter from family

Ok great thanks for clarifying! Just to be clear, you still need letters, but they no longer need to be notorized, is this correct? For Commonlaw aswell? Thanks! ;D

    Sponsorship - Letter from family

I think that you don't need letters from family anymore. If anybody can clarify or prove me wrong please do because I would hate to give you the wrong advice, but from what I can see with the new changes to the application, it no longer asks for letters from family anymore. Obviously it can't...

visa exempt common law partners soon to be seperated by country

OK fantastic thankyou! At the moment we are at the cusp, he is still here with me now, but will be going back to start his studies soon. Just for ease and smoothness of the process of all of this, what do you think our best option is right now. To send in the app just before he goes with his...

"the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18"

Ah! Ok cool, thanks for all your help. Unfortunately the Japanese PCCs arent very easy, it's complicated, expensive and time consuming (involving travel aswell) Sounds like I need to do it though..

"the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18"

Sorry but even this statement is vague to me! You say she called and it's not actually that confusing, but that you both talked about it and decided to get the certificate anyway to be on the safe side. So what does that mean? Please, do tell me what she got from them when she called, was there...

"the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18"

Much as I expected, nobody knows. These CIC papers can be very vague and grey Db1980 what did you endup doing? Are there any Senior members that could weigh in here?

"the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18"

The rules for police certificates have changed. Instead of needing a police cert for countries you have spent 6months or more, you need them only for your current country of residence, and "the country where you have spent most of your adult life since the age of 18" I'm sorry if I sound...

New certificates for new PR application

My case will actually be processed at the same office as a matter of fact, the processing office of my home country, there is only one. Just to clarify, I applied for my previous visa the old analogue way, filling in a form with a pen and sending it in via mail, so what actually is my...

New certificates for new PR application

So... basically, immigration will cross check old applications only to find ways in order to find you ineligible, aka: what you were saying about inconsistencies and what-not. They will in turn use this as a reason to deny your application However, if they find things that deem you eligible...

New certificates for new PR application

Thank you for your reply zardoz When you say 'No to both questions', you are saying no, your previous app holds no value And no, they will not cross check your old app Am I interpreting this right? And do you actually know this as a fact? Why would they keep our old apps on file if they didnt...

New certificates for new PR application

Thank-you Ponga This is my question exactly For fear of sounding spoilt or lazy, I need to obtain PCCs from countries that have very difficult application processes (If anybody has ever obtained a PCC from Japan you'll feel my pain) I have not been to Japan ever since, surely they will see this...

Why does CIC request Police checks and Traffic reports?

So... CSIS dont check the Aussie certs, or atleast the ones with nothing on them, is this right? They just go over them if they have redflags or something? OK, I guess that makes more sense

Why does CIC request Police checks and Traffic reports?

Ok, I'm a newbie so not up to speed with all this. Who or what is CSIS? Are they some sort of Interpol/NSA/global info watchdog or something. And, again, if in this case CSIS has access to this info, AGAIN, why do we need to get it?? They will get it anyway?

Why does CIC request Police checks and Traffic reports?

Well I assume they have access to this info because they double check, dont they? It was my understanding that elongated wait times for app processing are the VO double checking all your certs, so if they have access to your info to double check, why not just do the checks themselves all along...
