It is possible to submit CR application while in Canada. Per IRCC website, mail the CR application to the Canada Immigration Centre responsible for your area. In my case, I submitted a CR application in Canada while I had a valid TRP and OWP.

I have another idea. What if I use form 5476 and have my spouse be my representative and flagpole on my behalf. That way it would ensure I stay in Canada and be able to submit my rehab application. Would that be possible?

I was granted a TRP back in March 2018 for 6 months. When I applied for a TRP extension in August 2018, I also applied for an OWP at the same time. The TRP extension application gives the option to apply for an OWP as well.

It sounds like there is not much you can do but wait to hear back at this point. TRPs are either single entry or multiple entries, and are granted on a case by case basis. Your partner can apply for a work permit as long as the TRP is valid for 6 months or longer.

Glad to hear it worked out for you as well. I re-entered through Pearson airport.The officers were reasonable and didn't give me a hard time. Throughout the experience I felt they were working with me rather than being suspicious.

My best guess is that you would hear from CIC around early to mid June. I applied for a work permit as well along with the trp and both are valid for 1 year. I was expecting it to be 1 year. Anything past 1 year would have exceeded my passport expiration date. The TRP was not a multiple entry...
