Hey Guys! I received an email from CIC this morning giving me instructions re sending my passport to the visa office. Nothing has changed on my online application. I might be a bit paranoid but how do I know it is not a scam? And does that mean that my PR has been granted? Thanks!

I am in the same situation as Goddrick. So, does that mean you can do the landing now and leave for a vacation outside of the country before receiving the PR card? Is the border officer going to let him re-enter without the PR card though?

BOWP approved yesterday - received a more official PDF-ed letter today indicating that my BOWP will be mailed to me within the next 6 weeks :) Hang in there guys!

I applied May 27 for the BOWP. I received a message from CIC yesterday saying that my application was approved and today I received a PDF letter explaining that the permit will be mailed to me and that I should receive it within the next six weeks :)

First, thank you all for your responses! ;) Second, I checked CIC website this morning and it is clearly stated that if you do landing at a Canadian airport you need COPR + proof of legal status in Canada OR implied status but since I will have COPR before leaving I won't be under implied...

I have applied for BOWP on May 27 2016. Current open work permit expires August 31, 2016. I think I might receive my COPR before the expiration of that permit though (AOR February 24, 2016).

I got my medical passed one month after submitting my application when the doctor had told me it would only take a couple of weeks so don't worry and yes it's only the beginning for you so be patient!
