    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2017

I am in the same boat. My parents' files were transferred back to HK in March AFTER the background check stareted. So far we got requested notarized copy of Hukou (it was not required when applied within Canada), updated addresses and history since they turned 18, not the past 10 years, as well...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2017

This is what I have in my letter, look at the bold part. Maybe different VOs have different policies. Ø Updated Original police certificates from each country in which you have spent 6 months or more since the age of 18. For instructions on how to obtain police certificates for specific...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2017

I don't know about you but when I received the PCC request from the HKVO, they said that if we could not obtain the PCC in time, we only need to prove that we have applied for it, meaning any kind of receipt, or something, and then mail it in afterwards. Check the email/letter you received. It...

Have you tried cornwall? I landed in Cornwall, but that was 12 years ago. It is not as busy so you might have better luck.

Why were you asked to do a second medical, may I ask? Is it because it has been too long or there are somethings that they need to look at? Thanks.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hi guys, I applied in 2016 but due to my dad's medical it was significantly delayed. Then it was transferred to Hong Kong in March this year. The day before yesterday we received an email of Invitation to Pre-Arrival services. I was just wondering if any of your parents have received this...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

It was just an example that the 6 months time frame only applies to PCC for the country the applicant currently live in. I was living in Canada at that time when I applied for PR, so my 5 year old PCC from China worked for the time when I lived in China.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

The 5 year old PCC was the one from China. I had it done for my student visa when I left China to come to Canada as an International student. I stayed ever since and never went back for extended period of time before I applied for PR.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hi kilamans, You are right about the 6 months, but it only applies to the country they current live in. My parents currently live in Canada, and no PCC was required for Canada. This is what says on CIC website: For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Thanks, Rossie. When I applied for my PR, I supplied a PCC that was 5 years old. No one questioned it, and no body asked me to give extra, I was also never asked for a PCC in Canada. So my parents situation maybe okay?

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Thanks a lot for the info, Rossie! Much appreciated. My concern is that my parents requested their PCC in China last September before they came to Canada on Super Visa. It has been now over a year. On CIC site it stated that "For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police...

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I have a question: I applied for my parents both in one application. When I pay for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, should I type in 2 for 2 people or just 1 for 1 application? The field is asking "Number of applications" not "Number of applicants". Thanks.

Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I found this on the CIC website: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate. For the country you currently live in, the police...
