    OHIP eligibility

He is already landed immigrant, he has permanent residency/PR card and SIN number The flight is direct so he does arrive to Canada the same day he leaves (time difference but it is a same day) so do you mean he needs one day insurance for the flight? Or 14 day insurance for the quarantine? He...

    Arriving to Canada Ontario quarantine

He said his wife arrived earlier this year and he had to go to quarantine with her, since the government doesn't trust married couple to stay separated Not sure if there is any confirmation on this in any policies though

    OHIP eligibility

Sure, he arrives soon in 1-2 weeks, this probably won't change But do I need to do private insurance until I receive a reply from OHIP after application? Obviously he is required for 14 days quarantine first so he can't really go to ServiceOntario for this time

my father in law arrives to Canada later this month (he has permanent residency) We have a separate basement apartment with kitchen/bathroom etc and we can buy food in advance to allow for 14 day quarantine. His wife lives in that apartment right now. A few questions: I heard they have to be...

    Taxes question

Would need to do a Tax Return for a 67 year old PR (became PR for tax purposes this year) Any advice on how to prepare? Would simple TurboTax do the trick or is it better to get some advice from tax professional for the first year?

    Understanding OHIP requirements

She doesn't have OHIP yet, but does have a private insurance for 90 days. We can get the extra days to be covered until OHIP is starting and at that point I'm OK to having double coverage for a few days to be on the safe side (I assume 3 months doesn't necessarily equal to 90 days, so we...

    Understanding OHIP requirements

I had to claim that 21$ because my travel insurance (Manulife) maintained that I have to claim OHIP first before I can go ahead and claim the rest from them. Interestingly claiming the rest from them required another physical mail But this is just to show a point that a basic medical visit that...

    Understanding OHIP requirements

Thanks for your answers Eventually my questions are purely technical in nature Arrive: Feb 2019 plans to stay for 99 days then has to leave for ~ 2 weeks (but anyway not more than 30 days) then arrives back for more than 2 months (no travel plans until november) We currently we have a private...

    Understanding OHIP requirements

You must mean 153 days, which technically means 5 months? question was does she need to complete the 153 days out of 183 days, following February (which is establishing residence date) or following landing date? this "began living in the province" is not exactly clear and probably going to be...

    Registration for OHIP

The answer would be yes for the questions. However the 153/183 after establishing residence would only happen ~this summer I guess I'll put February 2019 for both. I just want to fill the forms correctly to avoid unnecessary trips to ServiceOntario

    Registration for OHIP

Landed in some date and then left for some time before settling down ~1 month ago But they are not asking about "Landing date" but "When did you arrive". Thus the confusion So this question is about the landing date?
