@Bryanna, it was not mandatory before, as u can see has_san he applied in Dubai VFS without submitting the passport, this came into the picture beginning of May 2016 as I was told, I am talking about VFS Doha and Dubai, maybe other VFS they were practicing this before.

I have applied through VFS Doha on the 16th of may and they said now the passport is required along with the application, I am not sure if taking the passport will make it faster, hope so, or soon I will need to get it back because I have travel plans.

did you apply online, or through VFS? did you submit your passport?

I have sent a case specific enquiry, but I do not have the details of the US B1/B2 and my passport details, it was 11 years ago, I have forgot all the details , any way I sent the enquiry, and I will email them the same also. thanks a lot for the advise. Regards

@Bryanna it was a paper form, I am afraid if I send this form now, they will delay my application, as they have my passport ( submitted during the application at VFS) and will need it soon for another travel. what do you think I should write in the letter. thanks
