Implied status towards presence in Canada calculation

Given I have a peculiar situation I wanted to see if someone has had a similar experience. Back in 2019 when I applied for PR through sponsorship, I also applied to extend my current status as a worker (PGWP). Then, two months after my status expired, and I was under implied status, both...

Common law sponsorship - Request more Proof of Cohabitation

Hello! Yes I did fortunately get PR. I re-submitted things I had already included (rental agreement, joint bank account documentation, phone bills, tax declarations) I also included that we were both beneficiaries in each other’s health insurance, and letters from landlords that corroborated...

Inland Spousal Sponsorship - Aug 2019 - Application transferred to Vancouver office

Yes. In my case, the sponsor was approved and then the application got moved to a local office. Then after them asking for more documentation and taking ages, they approved the sponsor again (which leads me to believe that the application gets combed over from the beginning) and we finally got...

Inland Spousal Sponsorship - Aug 2019 - Application transferred to Vancouver office

Did they say why it was transferred to a local office? Speaking from my experience, (since the same thing happened to me), this means that another officer will be reviewing your application again and they might ask for more information in the future. I will advice you to sit tight, since it...

Inland Spousal Sponsorship - Aug 2019 - Application transferred to Vancouver office

I usually check ECAS and the CIC account, because sometimes they update at different times. Most of these have been emails they have sent me letting me know that I had an update on the application.

PR Card (spousal inland + through online portal)

Hi I had a question regarding the card! Did they accept your photo? I don't know if I'm being dumb, but they rejected mine for being the incorrect size. Did you upload the photo, showing front and back? (With the stamp and name and birthdate) Or did you just send the front of the photo? Thank you :)

Problem with status after PR application

For me, my PGWP ended in June 2019, applied in February for PR, and got it returned in July-August. I was working until that point and had to quit the second I got it returned. You should be fine as long as they see that you stopped working and they will understand that you were on implied status.

Problem with status after PR application

The same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, you are now out of status and can't work. You can remain in Canada, and you can't leave until you have a decision made on your application (it could complicate things for you). Did you send in the Restoration of Status doc with your application? I...

You don't have to pay the fees again. You can attach the same receipts and that should work.

    PR card waiting time

Yes! It took me 10 days to get eCOPR. The photo I sent is still showing as "in review", since the issue of a PR card is taking a long time (or so I've heard)

COPR with old passport number but I renewed my passport

I also got COPR so I know that in the letter they sent you it says to let them know of any changes, since the COPR letter has your passport number. I would contact them and see what they say.

Question! Do we need to set up an appointment to go to Service Canada, or can I just line up?
