FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hey guys, Over 2 months now and still no PR card. (~ 9 weeks?) If I remember correctly the lady at the border told me 4-6 weeks, but how long can I really expect it to take?

    Conditional Permanent Residency

In a similar situation, except I was already going to school in US and finished 2 years. Decided I would just risk some credits and transfer to a uni here, I honestly didn't know about Condition 51 until after the application was submitted (and figured if I wanted to I could finish up what I had...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Anyone who landed yet receive their PR card? I think CanAussie was the only one that landed before me...in that case its been about six weeks for both of us. It's still a few more days until it's officially six weeks, which I guess then I have to contact them.

how long did it take to gather your docs?

5, almost 6 months. Had the paperwork done pretty quickly but FBI police clearance took 4 months and I was pretty short on money for medical exam, so we waited and did that last. We visited each other every month too so I had to keep updating everything frequently.

Fee Canadian Immigration Lawyers are charging for Spousal Application? (Toronto)

Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre in Mississauga. There's one lady there that helps citizens sponsoring someone and I think quite a few more for permanent residents sponsoring someone.

Has anyone who has landed registered with the US Embassy for living abroad?

Fee Canadian Immigration Lawyers are charging for Spousal Application? (Toronto)

We didn't have a lawyer. In Mississauga there's a neighborhood centre that offers free help. She looked over the application before we submitted (except for extra sheets) and made sure everything was as they wanted it and she organized it for us. We met with her a few times for questions and...

Is a Canadian without income eligible to be a sponsor?

My spouse became unemployed shortly before we submitted our application, and we included no extra information except he put he is "searching for jobs" in the bar provided. I really don't think it would be a problem. Many suggest that you include proofs of support etc. but we didn't even do...

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Sounds a lot nicer of experience than ours, I think it was her first time doing a landing so it took a bit longer. It was pretty boring, thankfully they had the Toronto/Miami game on. No congratulations or anything haha.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Landed today :D Windsor tunnel border. Very simple and straight-forward, since I said I had no belongings to come later they didn't even look at my b4 or the detailed list I made. Better safe than sorry I guess :)

    Spousal sponsorship

Did you receive e-mail receipts for any of your flights? Or passport stamps? You could photocopy those pages

    Spousal sponsorship

Also there are lots of places in the Toronto area that can help you filling up the application for free. My husband lives in Mississauga so we used the Dixie-Bloor Neighbourhood Centre. She helped us fill it out, answered questions, and looked it over for any last mistakes before submission...

Even in US - Michigan sometimes mail from Ontario takes up to two weeks. Talk about snail mail.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

If it helps....It's only because I'm very close that I received it so fast. I imagine yours is already out it's just taking longer because it has to travel considerably more.

    CPP-Ottawa

They requested a scan of my passport April 21st (wasn't one with initial application), made a decision April 25th and issued the CoPR that day as well (though I didn't find out until 28th on ECAS). One case manager was working pretty efficiently I guess

Regarding landing, I have a lot of jewelry my husband's family gifted me for our wedding, we can estimate the price, take pictures etc., but we have no receipts...because well, they were gifts. And some of them were purchased in Saudi Arabia or India, so obtaining a receipt somehow would be...

I think it's only necessary for dependents since to enroll in school they'll need their vaccination record....could be wrong though. Plus, all of us submitted a medical examination already.

    Marriage deterioriated after landing

I'm just sayin'. If he did want to stay in Canada, after all most people are giving up a lot coming to Canada. I've heard of people in the US being granted a pardon (immigration policy is similar in this regard) because their spouse (the sponsor) cheated on them. May be worth a shot if willing...
