When I take the oath, can I fly and apply for my first Canadian pasport in the Canadian consulate? How soon can I receive the passport if I am in Canada?

THX, I would not certainly apply for eTA knowing it is not right. I will see how my application for PR card turns around and play with the rules..the safest course of action

..it looks like the only implication is being denied an eTA and loss of fees paid. There is no mention of an application by PR being an offence or misrepresentation. I am just exploring options of being able to fly back to Canada whilst my PR card renewal is pending...

Is there any harm of an established PR attempts to obtain eTA on a visa exempt passport and nationality which have not yet been linked to his PR profile as the nationality of the visa exempt passport was obtained after landing? isn't the worest case is that the eTA will be denied? are there...

I do not think so. One has to stay 1095 in any rolling 5 years to qualify, that is my understanding..the 3 years need not be continuous so long as they fall in 5 years

@Depnabill: Will the Calendar based example be the same i.e PR has to remain untill Feb 1, 2022, had the PR been preset in Canada for three years before his exit on January 31, 2017?

@Depnabill: Could you please clarify by example as how starting over the counting works in this scenario? Does it mean to be present for three years all over again and previous presence would not count when x absence is 2 years + 1 day?
