Returning to Canada with different name on PR Card than passport

How did it end up going? Did you have any issues with AirCanada at the airport? I'm in the exact same situation as your wife. I didn't have enough time to update my pr card after I got my new passport with a new last name but will have to fly to Japan in a week or so.

    Maiden name on PR card

Hi, I am in the exact situation and curious to know how it went when you came back into Canada. Were you able to re-enter without any issues? Was the marriage certificate the only thing you needed to show?

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thanks Johnybegood, CanGer, and Decoy24601 for the congrats! CanGer, I had decision made on June 30th, so it took 2 weeks from decision made to copr. Also, fyi, I got a PPR email on June 29th, and I sent a copy of my passport, which CIC received on July 6th. Then, 5 days later, they sent out...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Thanks. The address that the document needs to go is PO Box 9780..so I didn't think I could use couriers! I was talking to a store clerk at Canada Post yesterday, and she recommended I wait and see till the weekend is over. After the weekend, we might get to know better of what they do for...

Does anyone know if we need to use Canada Post to send documents responding to PPR? Or can we use some other private couriers?

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I received an email from CPC-Ottawa at 7:30 pm local time. It's apparently one of those Passport Request emails. I'm happy how fast they are processing so far, but at the same time, I'm very worried about the upcoming Canada Post strike..so I would like to send my documents as soon as tomorrow...

Thanks for your reply Mrs. AB! We were going to call them tomorrow morning as you said, but my husband just received a SA email from CPC-M. SA is dated today (June 23) and says our file has been transferred to Ottawa. We still cannot access to sponsor's ecas but at least we know things are...

My file was also received on April 27th, and I am still waiting for my SA! I will definitely call CIC to make sure my file has been taken care of already. Someone might have asked this question earlier, but does a sponsor have to call CIC regarding SA? I'm the PA, and my husband is the sponsor...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I started getting an access to ecas today, 5days after AOR1. For some reason, it lets me log in only with my info (PA) and application number (F00xxxxxxx), but not with my sponsor's info. I'm not quite sure why my sponsor's info doesn't work but I would wait and see. Anyways, hope yours...

Post Graduate Work Permit holder applying for PR & OWP

Thank you for your help, canadausa#11 Yes, I hear Japanese residents' applications go to Manila since Tokyo office was closed. As you said, since I already live in Canada, it makes more sense to have an interview in Ottawa, rather than at the other side of the world :) I will do my best...

Post Graduate Work Permit holder applying for PR & OWP

Hello Ponga: Thanks for your advice. I am from Japan and will try finding out what other Japanese people's experience is like. I haven't decided either Inland or Outland, but sounds like I don't need to worry about OWP for now.. that's good news. I would not take any risk for my application...

Post Graduate Work Permit holder applying for PR & OWP

Hello canadausa#11: I was thinking of applying inland because: - I was afraid of losing my status in case my application process takes longer than expected and my PGWP expires. If I understand correctly, there is no open work permit available for outland applicants. - Outland applicants will...
