    PR Card

My wife arrived from Philippines on family sponsorship on April 16. We have yet to receive her PR Card? Anyone know how long it roughly takes from the time you land until you receive your card? Thanks,

    Thank you everyone

Hello all, I've been very the last couple of weeks since my wife arrived in Vancouver nearly eight months after we applied for family sponsorship. I am not sure if this is the place to do it, so forgive me admins, but I wanted to thank everyone on here for being so incredibly helpful from...

Re-entering Toronto without PR card, just landed

Good to know. I've never taken Amtrak or VIA across the border. Only Greyhound/Coach USA/Megabus. I've travelled by bus across the US Border at least 30 times. Never once been asked by the ticket agent for ID.

****AUGUST 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Thank you! Wife will be here in four weeks time. The government did commit to processing 80 per cent of applications within 12 months, so, while I know it is frustrating to see other applications get approved, you are still within the time frame that the government has established. I actually...

****AUGUST 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

It is done through e-mail. You are given instructions on what to do. We had to drop my PA's passport at VSF Manila, who then sent it onwards to Canadian Embassy in Manila. They will ask if you want to have your passport express shipped to the Embassy for a fee or regular. Everything is tracked...

****AUGUST 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

No they did not. That was the weird thing. We got passport request first. Then it all kind of came immediately afterwards within the day. Passport request, so we knew we'd 99.9% been approved. But when we looked at GCKEY and ECAS it still said background check in process and no decision made...

****AUGUST 2017***** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Thank you. I think the one thing I've learned from this entire process is that every single application is different and takes its own time. It's almost unfair to compare your application with another because there are just way too many factors. My PA and I are in our 20s, newly married, same...

    Change of name recommendation?

My wife was recently approved to come to Canada through family sponsorship. She will be arriving in B.C. next month. My wife would like to take my last name and therefore we will need to legally change her name. My knowledge about how legally changing your name in B.C. is limited but from what...

Re-entering Toronto without PR card, just landed

This may have changed, but Greyhound has never once ever asked me for any type of travel document prior to buying a ticket to travel to the United States with them. I am a Canadian citizen, but they never ever ask that. They fully expect you to have the requirement documents needed for entry.
