    Extension of Stay awaiting - can we travel out of Canada and re-enter?

    question: if you have already applied for an Extension of Stay, but have to leave Canada while they are still processing it (which can take up to 4-5 months), is it possible to reenter Canada by applying for a tourist visa (TRV) from your home country? Has anyone done that?
