Can someone explain why the applications shouldn't be processed in Ottawa when submitted in Canada? Where else would they be processed? I always assumed that my application would be reviewed in Canada, it makes no logical sense to transfer it to another country ... Secondly, is it really that...

I try and remain calm about this news - perhaps it's 5 years after the application is received in Ottawa...You never know.

It'd be great if the Excel chart had an additional column to list country of origin of parents, for statistics purposes. I've heard that sponsorship times can vary depending on where parents are being sponsored from.

There was an article in the Toronto Star newspaper on this (Immigration sponsors paying couriers to get applications to front of line). You can google it (I couldn't post a link here).

Just for statistics: I sent my package by a Mississauga based courier company called Critical Path Couriers (great customer service). Package was delivered on January 4, 2016 @ 9:35 a.m. CC charged January 13, 2016 @ 4:36 p.m.
