Sorry, I did not mention earlier. It is Fedex for me. I sent PP from US to Ottawa. I guess they must put all mails in outgoing mailroom and leave for the day. Then shipment picking companies come at EOD and pick those up.

Given it is going to be a long weekend, will they do ship passports back late in the evening?

Is it true that it varies case by case? Like some get no emails and status change but their return tracker get activated all of a sudden etc?

Probably yes. If I applied from India I would have got COPR 2 months ago. Has it been over 3 weeks since there are a handful number of PPRs? It is getting worser not better.
