So I also have just the 'given name' mentioned in my Indian passport. So, while filling Canadian application form - Canada passport Surname - Can I leave this field blank? Canada passport Given name - I'll write the 'given name' as mentioned in my Indian passport. Any suggestions?

@karthik2479 - I'd agree with you on this. It's better to pay the penalty fees (if applicable) and avoid travel via 3rd country. @vic2015 - I'd suggest you try calling the FRRO office in India. Most likely you'll need to apply for an exit permit. You can then exit/fly out using your Canadian...

After Oath :- Canadian passport application process - If you are currently living/working abroad and if you flown in to Canada for the Oath ceremony, what do you mention in the address while filling the Canadian passport application?

This is really disappointing & unprofessional to say the least - quite painful the lack of communication. Why can't they just tell us if it's cancelled or re-scheduled?

After surrendering, will the cancelled Indian passport be returned back to you? Or will the Indian embassy retain it with them?

From what I have read and understood in various online forums and Indian consulate websites , you can use your Indian passport within 90 days of acquiring foreign citizenship provided you haven't received your foreign passport yet.
