5 year rule and having a baby

Thank you canuck_in_uk, Yes, they are both visa exempt. So, to clarify, I could return to Canada, with them joining me (on tourist visas), and they could remain in Canada with me during the spousal/child PR process? Thanks for the advice. Cheers, Ross

5 year rule and having a baby

Hi all, Bit of a tricky one that I can't seem to find any advice on. I am a Canadian PR, currently living in Australia. I've had my PR for just over 18 months and have only spent 3 months in Canada. I therefore need to spend 21 months in Canada in the next 3.5 years in order to keep my PR, is...

    BOWP - November 2015

Thanks, good to know. Interesting approach for them - I would have thought they'd be more concerned about people being on implied status in the country for long periods of time. No health care etc etc

    BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

It sounds like BOWP processing has come to a stop. Hasn't changed much in 2016. You'd hope that they are bringing in some additional staff - I'm surprised they aren't concerned about these processing times considering there will be a lot of people on 'implied status' just now. Has anyone on...

    BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

So Work Permit Extension (New Employer)? That doesn't make sense to me, as the BOWP in itself isn't a work permit extension, it's a new open work permit. You just have to have applied for an extension in order to qualify for a BOWP.

    BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

In that case, processing time is now saying 1 month.

Does BOWP class as a 'Work Permit' or 'Work Permit Extension'?

Any thoughts? As the processing time for the two is now vastly different.

    BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

Just checked processing times. They now have a separate option for new work permit applications. Do BOWPs class a work permit extension application, or a new work permit application? The processing times are significantly different.
