JANUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

In our case, the sponsor (my Canadian husband) received an email approving the sponsorship; the principal applicant (me) received an email requesting a passport copy, and the COPR came in the mail to the principal applicant. It arrived today, nine days after Ecas showed "decision made".

You should get your COPR in the mail soon! I understand "decision made" is good news because otherwise they would require an interview. Congrats!

JANUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

All I can think of is someone pulling easy cases from the shelf and doing them completely in order to train new employees. I used to work doing release audits for Corrections and that is the only case where it was acceptable to NOT work on the files in the order of release date. Hope this...

Got a PPR (email copy) earlier this week! We were in Canada visiting and were able to go to the local library to scan my passport and email it back to Ottawa. ECAS still says "in process". Such a relief to hear something!

    Getting Married in Canada

Check to see when you can get the official marriage certificate. Here in Michigan it's a few days but I heard differently from some provinces.

mcoro001, it doesn't matter at all. Just to let you know, in my experience, UPS is much faster than USPS priority (not USPS fault because the delay was at the Canadian post side). Priority took 10 days and UPS two.

What documents should i get before we leave for canada?

To answer your original question - all the documents you need for the application (birth certificates, previous marriage/divorce paperwork as well as your marriage certificate, documents for all dependents, police report, medical exam). You will need for settling copies of her drivers record...

What documents should i get before we leave for canada?

And the biggie I don't think anyone has mentioned - if you apply Inland your wife can work BUT cannot leave Canada for any reason or the application will be considered abandoned. That means no visiting in case of sickness or death in the family. Does she want to risk that?
