Hey so I am a Quebec Family Sponsorship applicant - applying inland, Once we get the Open Work Permit, how do we go about getting his Medicare Card, as the sponsorship approval takes 18 months and we need a medicare card before then.

I just checked my own e-mail (and not my husbands) and we got our AOR on the 20th of February. Sent December 24th, was received by them on the 30th!

I am applying inland for my Husband. Sent in my application the 24th of December , and it was received the 30th of December according to Canada Post. I am on the spreadsheet already :)

When I called CIC, the agent told me that the OWP replaces the "Visa" and you can leave and re-enter with it as its still a valid document, BUT if for any reason they wan't to deny you entry because of security or health it will cancel everything.

Well, they owe me 150$. smh. They told me I had to pay (I am doing Inland - if that makes it any different)

I just did it and sent it in, after calling them to confirm. They said even if not accompanying I had to pay the 150$.

Yes you have to pay 150$ for the dependent children but not the Right to permanent residency fee for them, even if they were accompanying as well. But its 150$ per dependent child.

Okay, yes. So you would apply for an outland family sponsorship, ones your approved to be a sponsor, you will have to apply through quebec.

Yes we applied Inland. But due to being offered a tour in Germany in June - July for 2 weeks, when coming back on an OWP they can deny him and it will cancel the whole process :( so we are trying to make the best decision

Oh, well when on Implied status you can't leave and come back.

My husbands entertainment work visa expired August 16th, we applied for a visitor Visa August 11th and November 16th we got the approval letter. So during that time here was here on implied status.
