Don't worry. I had a similar response from my MP when I contacted them. I was advised to keep my expectations up to end of February 2017. But it was surprising we got the ppr request in a month's time. They don't get much information from CIC since they mostly contact the CIC office in Canada...

ecas shows AVO started processing my wife's PR application on Feb 02, 2016, but no updates nor message from them since. Is it unusual?

Hi Denis, my wife also applied online on Oct 29th. She did upfront medicals. Application was updated to "medicals passed" around November 27th. Since then, no updates from CIC.
