Update: Purolator dropped off the Surrender Certificate today. Strangely the status update on CGI still shows Surrender Certificate has been printed and BLS tracking shows ‘Processing at Consulate General’ I shouldn't be surprised at this lack of consistency but I still somehow am :rolleyes:

No response on Sampark query yet, its already been 6 weeks since the application was received at CGI. Status stuck in - Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance.Close On another note I have signed the petition to remove BLS, more than 5k people have signed already...

Guys my surrender status is now stuck in the following for over 1.5 weeks - Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance. I have already submitted Sampark query but no response yet. Original date of submission was 9th march 2022. Any idea why its taking this long and how...

Finally 2 days after submitting Sampark query the status updated to: Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance.

I applied on march 8th and the status still shows - Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate. Is this delay normal these days? Is there any way I can inquire or follow up?

Morning guys. I checked BLS tracker and there it was! Status - Under Process In Transit from BLS Centre to Consulat General Another waiting game begins!

Congrats! Looks like surrey is a much better office than Brampton which is by far the worst. I dont know the situation now but until a week ago they were not entertaining walk ins. Looks like I will also have to take a day off and go there if I dont see an update soon.

Folks I resubmitted a new application on 9th March. The first application was retuned due to errors. Its 18th now and still no sign of the new application on the bls tracker which still shows ‘returned’ and the old transaction and application #. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

That is the same thing that happened with me as well, they transfer the call but instead it disconnects. My status still shows the old application and ‘returned’. Hopefully our files will be updated soon. Pathetic customer service, I dont know why they are still contracted as agents for the...

Hi Mishti. I am also in the same boat, my BLS tracker shows ‘returned’ and has the details of my old application & address and not the new one. I think it will take about 8 business days to show the details of the new tracker. Maybe those who have resubmitted application after being returner can...

A My colleague’s application was also returned due to Canadian Passport # missing. Basically B(L)S will look for any pretext to return your application just so you can pay for postal fees again.

Is it just me or every time I read this thread I am extremely confused because there seem to be 3 different topics being discussed simultaneously - Surrender, Visa & OCI :rolleyes:

YW. re. Your returned application, that is strange since my entire application was returned to me along with the passport and documents.
