does anyone know if the 45 day processing time for the PR card is accurate? Any sample wait times any one could offer would be super.

Congrats! That's a question I've been wondering about as well. I was thinking of going in July but maybe not really moving until later in the year due to work stuff here. From what I read it seems to be possible but you need to give a Canadian address so they can send your PR card. You will need...

MYCIC updated 2 days ago to Application Approved and today I received my COPR. :D

I'm on my phone and maybe I'll update later but it's pretty well documented in the forum if you search a little. I think you're also active on the Nov thread and I recall some instructions were posted pretty recently there if you check. Edit...

Have you considered emailing or ordering notes? I agree it seems a bit longer than most people.

Got PPR in the night. Nearly there! In case anyone is curious I'm an American living in Germany and my VO is Ottawa but PPR and COPR are from Vienna. Just thought I'd share since I wasn't sure how it would be handled.

I just got DM on ECAS today and I'm from early nov so I'd keep waiting just a bit longer. Of course it probably wouldn't hurt to email them to order notes just for some peace of mind but I'm sure it's ok. :)

**OCTOBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

I'm waiting for the next update too. My BGC went in progress on the 18th and from other cases it looks like we could wait anywhere from a few days to a month for the next update. We should then see Decision Made on ECAS and afterwards (in most cases) we can expect to wait around a week or so to...

Yeah, I wasn't so sure. The prepaid thing was kind of new and I didn't see that other VOs were requiring it as far as I'm aware. I saw some Brits and Australians who had their apps processed by Ottawa but were requested to send to London or Sydney (and sometimes Ottawa) so I wasn't sure. I...

Does anyone know if Americans living abroad (but being process in Ottawa) will be requested to send a prepaid envelope etc. once they get PPR?

Dual intent is totally legitimate. You just need to make clear to the border agent that you intend to leave if your pr application is refused. Things like having a return flight, maintaining a lease, not moving all your belongings, etc. can help prove your intent. If you search around on the...

**NOVEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

It's from the old guide. In fact, it's no longer available in the new applications or anywhere I could find in the spousal application section. I found the form on another application type and now there is no longer any guidance to fill it out. So it was a little annoying to request something...

Yeah I read that but unfortunately didn't do it in the beginning. I can definitely recommend for common-law couples to submit it anyway since it can't hurt and you have other documents that need to be notarised so might as well get it done together.

The guide states "Original of completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409), if you have a co-signer and he or she is your common-law partner. Seems straightforward to me.

copy and pasted from my letter "IMM5409: Statutory Declaration of Common-Law" :) I did just double check after you sowed a seed of doubt that I've made a huge mistake.

It could very well be that. I scoured the forum looking for what other people submitted as proof and I felt we went submitted as much or more than most posts I read. I even saw someone who had a job offer and other pretty solid proof get asked for more info. We were also asked for an IM5409...

My partner and I got basically the exact question but it was followed by a statement about proof to reside. Is yours the same as below? I also double and triple checked all our forms and don't see anything incorrect and we gave what I still feel like was sufficient proof to return. Anyway, we...

I think SPR means sponsor. The wording in mine is a bit strange. I have basically the same sentence as you but first it says the other one I posted, which makes it sound like I need to provide proof my spouse resides in Canada even though she lives with me in Germany. :-/
