Refugee Travel Document - Questions and Answers

NO help from Government if you RTD is lost outside of Canada Thank you for the info on RTD, Rainbowbee. I wonder if you discussed with Canadian officials what would happen to a refugee if his Refugee Travel Document is lost or stolen during travel outside of Canada? Is their Government body...

Citizenship test to Oath in Victoria (BC) (Timeline for people with RQ

Hi, good to see another person here. I have pretty much the same timeline. Applied in April 2012. All other events like RQ, test and so forth won't matter, no matter how you shuffle all this the result is the same - endless waiting. I gave up hoping to hear from CIC ever again though they are...

    CMB - Decision by minister

    CMB - Decision by minister

I am a refugee and have been stateless for 10 years. My refugee case took several years to process because it had been misplaced and required my MP's intervention to get it recovered. By the time I applied for citizenship I had been 5 years in Canada already, but not counted all as PR due to...

    CMB - Decision by minister

Does anybody know anything about files being sent to CMB (Case Management Brunch) in particular - to the Citizenship Exceptional Cases Unit. Got my ATIP. It states that my file is going to be sent to CMB for a decision by minister. That was in February. Any idea on how long this takes? My...

ATIP Request Past due date by 11 days

I have the same story. Sent for ATIP on March 4th. Nothing since then. It is a win-win situation for them really - we can't demand anything and nothing we can do.

    Unbelievable processing time!!

What about speaking to an agent on the phone. They usually are useless, but you may try. Just don't let them of the hook, demand an answer. Don't forget you payed hefty sum for this "service". I know how you feel. I am waiting from 2012. You are not alone and we root for you like any other...

    Decision Made after Test?

One year is nothing! People are waiting for 4 to 6 years! I've been waiting since march 2012. It kind of becomes part of life eventually - constant waiting and not having the power to change anything.

    Decision Made after Test?

Decision Made doesn't necessarily mean the end. I've been waiting for 3 months so far since my ecas turned to DM. Some people wait even longer, up to 6 months. It all is the same - more waiting and no answers.

    Decision Made after Test?

I'm sitting on Decision made for some time too. My status changed to DM in December 2015. So you are not alone. Unlikely you got rejected since you didn't receive refusal letter. I don't think it takes for CIC that long to mail you refusal. I applied for ATIP. You may do the same to find out...

People with RQ from Victoria who applied before April 2015

What did agents told you when you phoned CIC? Did they tell you if the decision was positive? Yes, the next oaths will be in July. But even so how do we know we'll be invited? I for one lost hope. My case is being processed for 4 years now!!! I am so mad! There is just no end to this!

People with RQ from Victoria who applied before April 2015

Did you apply before April 2015? Apparently timeline is different in this case. You asked CIC to have oath ceremony not in Victoria? I thought it is impossible. I've been told it is considered to be fraud by CIC (moving your place of oath without moving your residential address). Could you tell...

Another 6 months! Grand! Why not years. All the same.

    Decision Made after Test?

Does anybody know if that sacred date - March 31, 2016 - means anything? What's supposed to happen till then? Does it mean people who applied before April 2015 will get refused or get oath invitations? Or it means merely you may get DM in you ecas and continue waiting further for unlimited...

    Decision Made after Test?

Thank you so much for the answer and support in this. This site is literally the only source of information and support for me in all this "processing". I don't think the agent was frustrated. She was simply doing her job - telling me nothing. Wow, they must be are some special people. I can't...

    Decision Made after Test?

I spoke to an agent and she told me that Decision Made doesn't actually mean that decision was made! :o Wow! Great ha? She said that it can mean many things. I wonder how it is possible since CIC site states that Decision Made means "the decision was made at this point". And that there are only...

Change location of the aoth ceremony

thank you for the information. I though so, for I never heard of people doing that without them changing their address first. I guess this topic is pretty much closed :)

Change location of the aoth ceremony

Hi! Does anyone know if it is possible to change the place of your oath? Let's say to change Victoria to Vancouver. I wasn't invited for the oath in March and wonder how to speed up the process and not end up waiting for another 3-4 months. If it is possible, what's the procedure?

Old applicants still can get citizenship with less than 1095 days

I am also old applicant with less than 1095 days. But what's interesting, I was RQed AFTER the test. 1 year later! In December 2015, I got Decision Made. Since then - nothing. Hope for the oath letter, since I didn't get a refusal letter. I also never had an interview with CJ. Just wanted to...
