I asked how long it takes to received a health card if I did not have to wait the 3 month period. I was told about 4 to 6 weeks from date of application. Maybe you will get it sooner.

For most people the process is about 8 to 10 months from date of application. There are exceptions on either side of the timeline.

I applied for my Ontario health card today. I was told that my health coverage starts 3 month after date of landing. This was also confirmed by the printout I was provided as part of the application process. The website is clear what documents you need to apply for your health card. There are...

My guess is the increase in processing time is because of the added pressure of approved refugee applications that need to obtain PR cards.

I had to send my original passport. I am not from an exempt country. I have a PGWP and I had to apply for for a TRV even though I had a PGWP. The TRV expires at the end my work visa in 2017. I was surprised that CIC waited so long before they asked me for my passport. I thought they were going...

I just received my passport request on Friday after going DM 9 days ago. I hold a multiple entry work visa that is valid until 2017. It appears there is no escaping the passport request if you are not from an exempt country.
