    December 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Yesterday I had the oath ceremony, closing this process. 6 months since I submitted the application, 8.5 since I arrived in the country. Cannot complain at all, on the contrary. I am very happy. Thank you all for your support and all the best to you and yours.

Traveling to USA next day of OATH!

Check the NEXUS status. When I got mine the officers from both countries told me that if my situation changes, and they explicitly mentioned Canadian citizenship as an example, I wouldn't be able to use the NEXUS card right away and it'd need to be updated. I didn't ask how the update would...

CIC Montreal Office citizenship timeline after in Process

This is very strange. I've been on Decision Made for almost three weeks now. I would understand major delays while the application is in process, but once it's reached a decision point, I'd think it'd be quick. Anyways, hopefully I get some good news this week.

    montreal office

I've had lots of work-related travel. I landed in 2008 and only last year I fulfilled the physical presence requirement. And on top of that I didn't have my passport with me the day of the interview. I hadn't lost it or anything, I just didn't bring it by mistake.

    montreal office

Below my timeline. I got a well deserved RQ and sent it right away. I have DM now, but haven't received anything yet. The suspense is killing me, as one part of me fears a rejection. If I knew it is an approval, then I would mind waiting months, if necessary, for the oath.

Applicants waiting for DM (Decision Made after their success at the interview)

I don't know if I should consider my interview a success, probably not. I didn't have my passport with me (long story) and the agent told me she would absolutely need the copies, which I sent a week later. So it's been around 50 days, or less if you count business days only. My wife's process...

CIC Montreal Office citizenship timeline after in Process

In this case there was a lot of travel. She had to present utility bills, rental agreements, proof of medical appointments, and other documents that would show she lived in Canada.

    December 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

I wrote it in Montreal. I read the Citizenship Guide 2-3 times and used the Richmond Library tests (look on other topics for this) for random practice times.

    December 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

I received my passport back and sent the copies to CIC. They should get them tomorrow. Hopefully the follow up doesn't take long.

    citizenship test difficulty level

Yeah, someone advised me not to say it was easy because, as you said, every one is different. Some people have studied all their lives and have that skill, while others might not be used to it. Others might be interested in current affairs and/or history and might know most answers even before...

    citizenship test difficulty level

In my experience they are pretty much like the ones you find here. http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/ To prepare, I read the Citizenship guide three times and did those tests for 25 mins or so. I think the actual test experience reflected that. Most questions have two options that are...

    December 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Good news is that I presented the test today and got 20/20. Unfortunately, when I was gathering my papers over the weekend I realized I didn't have my passport with me. Rocket scientist me didn't remember I would need it for the citizenship test when I happily handed it over to the US embassy...

Very strange. I got an invite for the test, but I haven't even sent the fingerprints they asked for earlier. Can someone update my timeline, please? We sent you a notice on February 21, 2017 to appear and write the citizenship test on March 13, 2017 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive by...

I got movement on ecas, but I'm not sure what to make of it. Hopefully I get it on the mail, because so far everything has happened online. What do you guys think? RQ maybe? We sent you correspondence on February 16, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested...
