Don't forget that PR is required to apply for citizenship. Based on that it's logic that the whole application is lighter than for PR, the work has already be done.

You need to provide an explanation if you have any day in the 6 years period where you had no valid passport (i.e. if your old passport expired on January 1st 2014 and your new passport has been effective from January 4th 2014, you need to join a letter explaining why)

Do you have a gap between your passports? Like a period where you had an expired passport before having the new one. If yes, you need to add a letter to your application to explain why.

I'm a french applicant and I have sent a diploma from University in France so I assume that if you have a high school and above diploma from UK it will work.
