    Dependent PR question...

And abandonment if I leave without her. I guess my daughter gets to make all of the decisions.

    Dependent PR question...

I can't even force her to come home. At this point, I'm thinking my only option to returning to the US is to plan it out first, locate her and drag her along.

    Dependent PR question...

Hello. My daughter and I have had our permanent residency for almost a year now. We are living in BC. We have had some family issues. She is 16 and currently doing the teenage rebellion. The laws here in BC essentially allow her to do as she pleases even though my husband and I are legally and...

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I'm hoping the update email for MyCIC means that they have updated the COPR's and are sending them back. They have had them back for just over two weeks now. Still no update on the return envelope tracking. Congratulations to all of the PPR's and COPR's!!!! :D

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yes, you can leave Canada for short visits. They will mail you the PR card after landing. It has been taking 4-6 weeks from what I have read on the forum. If you leave before the card arrives and you plan to fly... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp...

***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

I'm fairly certain that after they transfer your file, it will say not needed, but when they open your file and start working on it, it changes to not started.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Sending an email or a fax asking for an extension on the 30 days explaining the wait time for the certificate and providing a phone number for the consulate so they can confirm. Give them as much information as you can. I have not found any other way of contacting CPC-Ottawa. Best wishes!!

    US outland applicants' thread :)

It would probably be best to send them something more current that shows you are living together still. More proof can't hurt.

Does anyone know how long it takes for Ottawa to correct a COPR and send it back?

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Well...we received the COPRs today. I would be excited, but I have to return them. Even though I sent the corrected passport information to CIC, they have my daughter's old passport information on the COPR. I am bummed. All of our landing, moving and work plans went down the drain. C'est la...

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

That really sucks. Maybe send an email to the VO? It seems that if they can look up your information that they could at least give you a file number, UCI or something to follow. :(

I would certainly call to get the application number and to confirm the email address.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Perhaps I will do that. I just checked Hyder/Stewart border and the only patrol they have is a phone on the Canadian side. No patrol for the US at all. *shrugs* Back to camping for three days on the coast, lol. Maybe we'll see some whales.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I purposely purchased a car that would meet all of the criteria for importing to Canada including daytime running lights. I needed a vehicle that could tow a trailer across the US and through two sets of mountain ranges. Besides having to now replace the windshield (they use pebbles on the...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

We've been trying to discuss our options...selling it in the states...parking it somewhere for three days in the US while we go camping on the Canadian coast...We even considered looking up the laws regarding selling it to a native friend of his. lol
