8 months come from 16 months of pre-pr time I have spent.

I am trying to find when is the time spent before becoming a PR come into effect. At the time of royal accent or at the time decided by governor general? if at the time of royal accent then it would help me as I have 8 months that I will gain and be eligible to apply right away.

I just checked my e-case and there it was, the oath invitation for January 25th ceremony. I applied in March 2015, took test on Oct 14, 2015 and oath is on Jan 25, 2016. :) ;D Good luck to everyone ... The oaths are just around the corner.
