i seem to recall a couple of members on this thread discussing it a few months back but you might have to scroll back a few pages here and dig in.

when it actually came down to it, it took them only 6 days after my PPR to stamp my passport with the counterfoil VISA and send me the COPR. 10 months and 10 days to get the PPR, then a mere 6 days to have the COPR. these matters work in a strange way. feel absolutely blessed and thankful...

i've done quite a bit of research on this and the consensus is that on average it takes an about an additional 6 months from the time you inform IRCC

interesting. i sent mine using the CVAC option. it said on the instructions I got directly from IRCC that they would process it within 10 days and then additional 1-3 days for delivering it back to the CVAC office. only been 6 days for me so far but i'm already counting days.

thanks elmas. i was glad to have been able to help and learn things from members on this forum myself. i could have had my PR 4 years ago had I known things better and had the previous government not screwed over a lot of us international students. anyways, better late than never.

Hi folks, I just submitted my passport to a VFS centre here in Dubai. They charged me a ridiculous AED 162 for administrative fees and sending it to the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi. Anyways, any idea how long is it taking these days on average for the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi to stamp...

After a wait of 10 months and 10 days...PPR!!! Got the e-mail a few hours ago. Thanks everyone for all the support. Wishing you all the best and hoping you all get it soon as well!

not really sure. my guess is an overall review to check everything is in order.

it's not a big deal. you'd be shocked if you heard my story. my background check was in progress since July. I only just got it confirmed that it's been completed last week and now the file is in final review. no idea how long the final review takes.

any idea how much longer it takes to get the PPR request once the application goes into final review?
