    We just got the same thing as my wife's family is in Maine. They did not explain it very well so it seemed like it was a negative thing limiting travel, but as you say it should make things easier. Her's is only until the end of the year though, but it can be renewed in person at the border.

    Thanks saria1 and michminn! I was hoping my employer would do this legwork, but they don't do dependants anymore. I am guessing it is because the process changes so much and is now quite complicated.
