Yes. We took the exact same flight getting to Edmonton after 1 a.m.. In fact we would have made a flight 3 hours earlier just in time but would have been sweating it.

If you are landing by air in Canada and then transferring to a domestic flight you'd better have at least 4 hours between flights to be safe. All the formalities of a new immigrant landing. You could breeze through in a couple of hours or you could be stuck at the end of the line of a lot of...

Normal. Give it a couple more weeks before getting worried. But I see current sponsorship approval time is currently 40 days.

China has a lot of rules and laws such as motorcyclists must wear helmets, traffic must stop at crosswalks, visitors must register within 24 hours at their local PSB if not staying at a hotel etc. but they aren't always enforced. :) But you don't want your wife to be stopped at the border.

I don't know either. every situation different I guess. There could be reasons why your wife needs an exit visa such as she has never been outside Mainland China or whatever.

My wife had same situation. Mainland Chinese resident and passport. Got COPR and the visa was added to passport at Beijing office. No exit visa needed. No Hong Kong pass needed if she flies from there since her passport with a ticket covers transit and a short stay in Hong Kong. Start looking...

If she is flying directly from mainland China then she won't need a Hong Kong pass. So she needs passport with visa in it and also the COPR letter. My wife filled in a B4 form which states the stuff she was importing to Canada and if there were any goods to follow. But she only had 2 suitcases...

My wife didn't need any more photos to submit. Just the 2 sent when getting passport with visa. One of those 2 will be on her PR card. She landed with no problems and she wasn't asked for any more photos. She was told to expect her PR card in about 2 months. Her ecas just changed to complete...

My wife landed yesterday. :) :) Just over 8 months from application to getting back passport with visa and COPR. She took another 2.5 months to get ready to travel and maybe get past Canadian winter shock, and still half a month before first medical expiry. Hong Kong processing was 10 months...

So they only asked for the updated specifications passport photos and nothing else? This seems to be an interim request then. It is in order for them to continue processing rather than "processing is almost complete" that was in our letter. Your spreadsheet says your passport is a Mainland...

Declaration Card for Sponsored Spouse Immigrant

Wrong thread to ask, but it took 3 weeks. Now that this thread has been bumped up again, I am still wondering what date my wife should put for when she left Canada in the Resident section as she has never even been in Canada yet.

Look at page 158 in this Hong Kong thread. I and Benitaagogo both advised you that your application seemed far too rushed. It seems you still sent it in the next day. It is not surprising to me it got returned. Spend many more hours checking every detail this time, starting with imm1344 but...

Yes IMM1344 is required. The Hong Kong checklist you referred to is the checklist for the applicant. The Sponsor's checklist starts with imm1344 as the first thing on the list. Start with Part 1 on http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Declaration Card for Sponsored Spouse Immigrant

My wife will be immigrating very soon and will land by air. I am wondering about how she will fill out the Declaration Card on the flight. Is she a visitor because she will not become a resident until a couple of hours after the plane lands? If a visitor it asks how many days she will be...
