Just to share my experience as I recently landed (in Toronto) and had non accompanying dependents*. I used a recent bank statement from my UK bank as POF, didn't have anything else. The lady who dealt with me accepted that without any problems. *The lady who dealt with me said actually my...

Landing tomorrow in Toronto - Any tips?

I'm landing in Toronto tomorrow after receiving COPR. I'm doing a short landing, only staying for a week but hoping to get all the admin sorted and get my PR card on its way to me. I'm flying from the UK and am visa exempt so don't have to worry about re-entry. From what I've read all I need...

I think the only think you have to fear right now is a bit of a wait, if it starts getting way past 6 months then you might need to investigate. Having said that I know people who have had everything go through with no problems at 8 months.

    Canadian baby and PR application

Yeah, doesn't make any difference. The only slight advantage I can think of is that you won't have to get a medical for your baby. I have Canadian children too. The only other thing that may of benefited me is that I got a provincial nomination from Ontario and I had very good ties to the...

I was wondering this too, I've been out of the country quite a few times in the last 10 years. My BG Check changed to "in progress" on the 14th of May. Maybe they have more checks to do. Also I went to Afghanistan for about 10 days because of work, that might be something they spend some...

Congrats to the PPRs. I'm Outland PNP, AOR 24 Feb, BG Check went to In Progress on 14 May. I'm from the UK so assume London VO. Is anyone else similar? Most Outland PNPs seem to get PPR very soon after BG Check In Progress.

I think security is stuff like links to terrorism or being on an INTERPOL wanted persons lists. Does anyone else have any details on this? I don't think there is such a thing as an international criminal record, in Europe at least any crimes in any country are recorded on the criminal record...

My AOR is 24 Feb, my BG check went to in progress on 14 May. PNP Outland. LVO (I'm assuming). Some people get PPR within a week of BG check going to in progress. But the time between BG check and PPR varies wildly, almost everyone gets PPR in the end though.

    UK PCC question

Technically you might not need it if you've not spent more than 6 months in the UK. But I suggest you get it anyway. I've got 2 from the UK and they're pretty quick. You should get them within 2 weeks.

I'm also from the UK so we probably have the same VO. My BG check also went to in progress on the 14th of May. Not heard anything else yet. PPR seems to come in batches, hopefully we'll both be in the next one.
