    Distracted driving vs citizenship application?

Dear All, am I right that a distracted driving conviction (using a phone on a red light), which is under the Ontario Highway Act, is NOT a criminal offense but a traffic offense (I think it was a fine, a couple of demerit points and 3 day license suspension or something like that), and so does...

Name change already done once on PR card, is it needed again?

I'm wondering what to do with the question on the citizenship application (and PR card renewal) regarding name change. If someone changed their name since becoming a PR, but already "notified" IRCC by getting a new PR card issued in that name, does one still have to answer "yes" to this...

Original entry dates to Canada vs what's on COPR vs citizenship

    PR Card expiry?

Thank you so much! it was primarily the status part that he was panicking about, it just seems so much like it's tied to the validity of the card that it's good to see a confirmation that it isn't.

Original entry dates to Canada vs what's on COPR vs citizenship

no, I haven't looked into recording the COPR (I'm concerned it's complicated and takes long...) Are you then suggesting I go through with it and correct those dates on the copr? what would happen if they did call me for an interview and noticed the copr dates are different than the first...

Original entry dates to Canada vs what's on COPR vs citizenship

it just gives the landing date (which was 2 years later than the Copr wrong dates and 3 years later than the original first time ever in Canada date).

Original entry dates to Canada vs what's on COPR vs citizenship

I never got the wrong first entry dates on my COPR fixed (it's a matter of one year, or less I think). The date I landed as PR is two years after those erroneous dates on the COPR and three years after the real first entry. Is it necessary to get those dates corrected before I apply for...

    PR Card expiry?

thank you very much :) he does fulfill the RO (only away from Canada for about 100 days in last 5 years) so I guess all will be good for him :)

    PR Card expiry?

Hi Ponga, thanks very much for answering! haha yes, of course! what I meant is that while it is needed for travel (and sometimes other things in certain provinces), letting a PR card expire does not mean that the status of the resident is in jeopardy, so once he applies to renew they won't...
