It will help more if you have taken IELTS. In my case, I received my Master's degree in Canada, sort of helped. Why don't you take the IELTS and see the results if you want to demonstrate your english? Secondly, for immigration, computer programmer may be a needed category (check it), you...

Mine has been like that for 4 weeks. If you get rejected, you would receive the letter within 2 weeks top. So don't be nervous.

Personally, don't. My brother was in the same boat as you in Feburary, he had to leave for 2 weeks to the US. His status changed the night before he left. Guess who has to come back early?
