Whether a family with children can enter Canada with expired PR Cards through US

This is not ALWAYS true, as sometimes they will force traffic through exit control at CBP (they did this recently in the Montreal area because 2 prisoners escaped from a high-security prison in rural New York) but there won't be questions about what you're doing or why, in this specific instance...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

You should show your PR card, and your passport too probably. If you have a visa-exempt passport you can show that to customs and they will see your status in the computer, but some officers might get angry that you don't have your card. Some places have different lines for residents vs visitors...

    SO I DID IT.

My local Service Canada issued mine in about 5 minutes. I went directly after they opened and there was no line… I was there and back in less than 20 minutes including travel time. It's fast.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Yep. No GST anyway (AFAIK), you bring all your stuff up tax-free as a new settler. They do expect you come back and pay it if you sell your car within a year. If your car has metric speed indications on it at all you should be okay. I have seen many an American car with the odometer in miles...

    Crossing borders with expired PR

This. This is the most likely outcome.

"Complete" after landing with Goods to Follow?

I landed a couple of weeks ago in St-Bernard-de-Lacolle, and I filed a B4 form for my stuff that will accompany me, but I haven't been able to go down and get all of it yet. Had to file vehicle export paperwork, etc. Anyway, my eCAS doesn't show Complete, and I don't see anything for my PR Card...

    Processing times

Mine was done, from mailing to landing, in just a touch over 5 months, including getting a CSQ. It can be extremely fast, depending on your situation.

    SA than Quebec letter?

Oh, sorry. Long day yesterday, I misread AOR as SA. I stand corrected. Dan is right, it totally depends on the agent. Some are totally unwilling to open files at all, unless you tell them it's been more than the processing time. Others are more willing to look into stuff that seems weird.

    SA than Quebec letter?

The AOR email you received should have a PDF attachment. This is the letter you need to apply for your CSQ, it is an official immigration document. I am almost certain that the agent cannot tell (at least not without a fair amount of digging) how the letter was sent to you, since, from looking...

    SA than Quebec letter?

Also, you are already finished with the first step. Congratulations! Your file has been forwarded for processing, and your second waiting period is ticking away. You will need to get the CSQ to them in order to finish it, but they are already "processing" your file. You will likely get a request...

    SA than Quebec letter?

Did you provide an email address on your application? If so, your sponsor (your spouse) should have received an email with the letter attached. You must print and use this letter, no letter will be physically mailed to you. The only mailed correspondence you will get in relation to this...

    Family Visiting

Yep. Just answer the questions she is asked simply and honestly. They MAY ask her about your status or application (and that's a really big may) and she can answer honestly, but it's not going to be a problem at all.

Living in Canada while Outland application processed in UK?!

Yep, totally okay. It's a mailing address, not a residential address.

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

That's bizarre. I have a buddy who is as Canadian as they come, and who was born in Europe somewhere. This means that he (who has lived here most of his life) can't transmit Canadian citizenship by birth because he was not born here, but once I become a citizen I can? That means I could...

    Vacation after your landing interview?

Before I landed, when I'd fly in via Delta, they'd just ask me during online check-in what day I plan to leave Canada, and all was well. I'd assume they'd just ask in person at the counter if I didn't check in online. I think they just need to do their due-diligence.

what would you do if you are facing the same situation......

You should definitely not send your file again. Sending the same document multiple times will likely delay your application. You have proof that you sent them documents, and proof that they were delivered. If your visa is refused because of missing documents, they will reopen your case and...

    Pregnancy after Visa issued

You should definitely get registered for your provincial health coverage as soon as possible, birth in a hospital will be very expensive.

    Decision Made Newdelhi ApplicantQuery

You are correct on all points except #1. Parents can only transmit Canadian citizenship by birth if they themselves were born in Canada.

    Vacation after your landing interview?

This is totally allowed, but most airlines won't allow you onto the plane without a return ticket unless you have a visa, and they don't accept the COPR. BUT, since you've got a visa-exempt passport, you're okay to board the plane without a visa. I flew into Canada 3 or 4 times with just my US...

    FBI clearance form

I sent my fingerprints on Oct 29 and they didn't hit my credit card until the end January, and I didn't see the report until the very beginning of February. Processing speed has improved since, but it will take a while, and they don't hit your card until they run your prints and start working on...
