    October 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Hi everyone, my application like most of yours has been "in process" since February 11, 2020. I was not invited to a citizenship test before the pandemic started. My question is this, will people like me (those whos next step is to take the test) have to just wait until they resume testing? What...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

AIP = Approval in Principal = 1st stage approval. If all goes well, at AIP you get a letter saying meet the requirements for PR but are not necessarily given your PR card at this point (though many do get DM or decision made at the same time). AIP is currently taking approximately 18 months from...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Personally, I would for sure. The following is from the processing times page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp (They're on June 9th as of today.) "Note for sponsorship INSIDE of Canada: If you are the sponsor or person being sponsored and it has been longer than the...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Almost 18 months to the day! crazy. So I actually got notified of my appointment by the Hamilton CIC office a day ahead (yesterday) of receiving my "you will be contacted by x office" letter (today). Any advice or tips ahead of my interview next week?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

The email referred to it as my "permanent residence finalization appointment" so definitely not a DM letter but it seems promising. The attached letter started with "Sir/Madam: I am pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Can someone suggest what I should do if I have received my appointment letter but not my AIP letter? Getting started with OHIP is a top priority for me as I'm currently paying for private health care. I'm going to go call the help centre right now. Is there something else I should try? Thanks.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Thanks! Best of luck to you as well. It would be soooo nice to done but I've learned not to expect things from CIC. I would certainly appreciate AIP and thus OHIP eligibility, even if I had to wait another while for PR. I'll be walking over to Service Ontario the minute I receive the AIP email...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Hi everyone, 3 days ahead of the 18 month anniversary of my official application date, my sponsor just received SA. I'm elated, truly. A little nervous too that something is going to go wrong. Whatever is going to happen is happening now. Yikes. Probably both feelings are normal. Can anyone...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

You make some nice points about Canada but each person in the 'western' countries are producing (literally) tons of CO2 and most of the developing nations are producing relatively little CO2 yet they will suffer worse from the consequences of global climate change. There is absolutely no doubt...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Re: 2014 November Applications I tried twice and both times they said I needed a letter from an employer. Unfortunately I am still unemployed so no letter. Very frustrating.

Re: 2014 November Applications Just another reason to despise Daesh/ISIS/ISIL/Whatever-they're-called-today/A-holes. I remind you all that these refugees have it infinitely worse than most of us and if it takes CIC another 2 years to give me a PR card, then I need to try and focus my anger and...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I am seriously angry at the CIC. 17 months to first stage is a very cruel thing to do us. It just seems like a cruel joke. Are just sitting at their desks playing solitaire all day while our applications collect dust in closets? Are they laughing all the way to bank? Why is this happening to us...

Yes, OWP is $155 + $100 = $255. They added the $100 in late February.

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

I'm just wondering about updating my address with CIC. I have moved and immediately updated my address through ECAS for my PR application. However, I don't know how to update my address with my pending OWP application (sent separately on Feb 10). It would be nice to have some idea of where they...

CIC - Unable to check status

I could not access ECAS for about 10 days. I just checked today (after not checking for about 3 days) and it's working again. So I can confirm that it does seem to blink out like that. I hope that it does mean they're doing something to my application!

    ECAS

Up until this weekend I was able to log in with my sponsor's credentials (UCI#, DOB, etc). I have never been able to log in with my (the applicant's) UCI#. Today for the first time in a few weeks, I tried the application number with my (the applicant's) DOB, etc. and it worked. However, now ECAS...

one-year pilot OWP for spouses and common-law partners

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/updates/2014/2014-12-22.asp It's a relatively quick form to fill out. After applying for PR it will seem like a piece of cake. Good luck.
