@Jameslong: Yes, my SA email said that too. I received that in July. A month later, my wife received an email that her file had been transferred to Hong Kong. I don't know when the CIC actually sent the file, but there was six weeks between those two dates. @DKO: The COPR and Permanent...

Dko, My wife paid by bank transfer to their account in Beijing. We paid 200 RMB. The actual figure is closer to 180 RMB (passport transmission service charge + courier fee), but the website is confusing, so we sent extra to be safe. The bank information is here: ENGLISH (look under "Methods...

    JULY 2015 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

I think most of us here are at or near the end of the process. My wife sent her passport to Beijing. She got an email back the next day with confirmation and a tracking number. Much better than waiting in silence for five months :)

Dko, Was this the email you received? If so then yes, your application was approved. Congratulations! It seems that CIC sent you a Passport Request but forgot to update your ECAS file.

Dko, Yes, 18 months from July 2015. A few points: (1) The CIC website now shows 17 months, not 18. (2) This is an estimated processing time. Most applications are processed much faster. Many in this thread are near the end of the process already.

CIC has changed the way you view processing times

A reminder to anyone writing letters. Last month, Calgary MP Michelle Rempel asked the new Immigration Minister John McCallum if an influx of refugees would impact the processing of spousal visas. The Minister said there "would be no impact." Now that the CIC website is showing 18 months for...

CIC has changed the way you view processing times

Am I missing something? People in this thread are suggesting this is a positive change. It "streamlines" the process. But it just streamlines how we see the process, not the process itself. This is less transparent than what we had before. By removing processing times by visa office, all...
