PR Card renewal January-March 2017 Timeline

My application was received on Feb 2nd this year and I JUST got the email notification an hour ago. Probably you'd have to wait another month if your application was received later than March 2017.

PR card application online status and processing times

Thanks! But are you sure about "someone must be present"? It'll be my 3rd card and the 2 other times(1 initial, 1 renewal) I just received them in regular mail. I remember thinking how "unprotected" it was. Also do you get AOR by email? I didn't receive them either in the past 2 times. Have...

Hi, I have sent my application for my PR card renewal and it was received on Feb 2nd according to Canada Post. According to CIC they are processing the applications received on Jan 26th and it was updated on March 17th (even though the page says March 10th) and it is about time mine would be...

Using old PR card after the new card has been granted

Thank you both. I think I'll go with my old PR card if the new one doesn't arrive before I leave. I suppose at least I can go on board to come back to Canada (even if they ask further questions at the airport).

Using old PR card after the new card has been granted

Hi, After you apply for the new PR card (renewal) and then if you go abroad, can you come back with your old card even the new one is granted while you are away? (Of course, provided the old card is not expired). I do know that I can use the old card while the new one is "being processed."...

(PR card renewal) Address history dates - what if I was traveling in between?

Hi, I'm filling in my PR card renewal form and I have a question about my address history. I left one residential place after selling it in July 2012 and visited my family in my home country for 3 weeks, then came back to Canada and directly went to my new place/house which my then common law...

Thank you. From what I read as you say it seems nothing applies to me other than "never married."

quick PR card extension question - overlaping part of "5years" as 1st extension?

Thank you for your reply. I do know the difference between the PRC and PR status, so I should have been more careful in wording in my inquiry. What I meant by "overlap" was the period where the visa officers check my "last 5 years period" activities. They have already checked my activities etc...

    PR renewal supporting documents

Thank you for clearing up about the supporting documents. About including the copy of current PR card... Where in any of the CIC documents does it say so? I didn't include it in my first extension and I got it though... And neither in IMM5644(document check list) or IMM5445 (the instruction) do...

    PR renewal supporting documents

Hi, I have actually no idea why many people are talking about these "supporting documents." I'm also trying to renew it and in the document check list(IMM5644) it only says to include an application, a photocopy of 1 identity document(passport copy), 2 photos, fees and the document...

quick PR card extension question - overlaping part of "5years" as 1st extension?

Hi, I became a PR about 10 years ago and extended it in 2012. Now my second extension time. I understand that 5 years the CIC requires as my history for extension is past 5 years from the date you apply the extension. (i.e. if I send in the application today, it is from Jan 24th, 2012). I...

became PR as common law but broken up. What's my marital status for extension?

Hi, As the title says, I became a permanent resident about 10 years ago under the family class and extended status 5 years ago still as a common law. Now we broke up and my 2nd extension time is coming. I wonder what my marital status is. Is it simply "not married?" I'm not a "common law"...

About passport copies needed to renew PR card

Thank you for the replies guys and sorry it took me a while to say thank you. OK I'll just submit regular copies without additional passport pages. Just wondered about it because there are some information that are not correct online. (and from my experience the CIC agents sometimes give you...

About passport copies needed to renew PR card

Hi, I am a PR for about 10 years and renewing date is coming in May. I have two questions about my passport copy. (1) I have renewed my PR card once and I have no recollection of certifying any of my documents five years ago. However a few of my friends who recently renewed their PR cards said...

About the "Canadian business" exemption of the residency oblication

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have seen this definition. From my understanding it is not that the business has to cover all the 3 definitions provided here, but has to cover at least one of them, am I correct? I have opened up an business and it is "enterprises which have been created by the...
